Dr. Shirley Williams![]() I call myself an Austin native because I have been living there since I was a freshman in high school and because I just feel Austin is home. After I graduated from Anderson High School, I attended the University of Texas at Austin where I took my prerequisites for dental school. Later, I attended dental school at the University of Connecticut. (I came back to Austin because family is here and that is important to me.) I enjoy pretty much everything related to general dentistry, which is why I chose not to specialize. I feel so many dentists overlook how powerful “bread and butter” dentistry is at changing the lives of our patients. My strengths lie in gentle treatment and I particularly excel at extractions. To help keep me up-to-date on the basics of dentistry, I love partaking in study clubs around Austin. Consequently, I have amassed over 850 hours of continuing education. Additionally, I also have very strong customer service skills and always inform my patients with the best care options possible. For fun, when I am not spending time with family, I am reading, cooking, or watching documentaries. I am a voracious reader of all types of books—fiction, self-help, non-fiction, investing, biographies. Also, I like learning new recipes that push me out of my comfort zone and visiting unique restaurants—I[8217]m a bit of a foodie! |
